This page explains the rules for using Elementle and how information is handled when you play, create an account, or see advertising on the site.

Terms of Service

Elementle is provided for personal, non-commercial entertainment and education. Please do not interfere with the site, attempt to access accounts or services without permission, automate requests in a way that disrupts the game, or use the site for unlawful purposes. We may change, suspend or remove any part of Elementle when reasonably necessary to operate, protect or improve the service.

Elementle and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not make warranties about uninterrupted availability, accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. These terms do not limit rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Information we collect

You can play without creating an account. If you create one, we process the information you submit, such as your username, email address and account credentials, to create and secure the account and to sync game progress and statistics. We also process the guesses, results and account statistics needed to provide those features.

Like most websites, our hosting and service providers may receive technical information sent by your browser when you visit, such as IP address, device and browser information, requested pages, date and time, and diagnostic or security logs. If you email us, we receive the information in that message and your email address.

Browser storage

Elementle uses browser local storage to remember game progress and interface state on the device you use. For example, this can include submitted guesses, the number of guesses, whether a puzzle is complete and, after sign-in, a session token. Local storage remains on your device until it is cleared by you, your browser or the site. Clearing it can reset local game progress or sign you out.

Advertising, analytics and cookies

Elementle uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate use of the site and Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage, identifiers, IP address, browser information, activity on this site and other information described in their policies to measure advertising, limit fraud, report performance and, where permitted, personalise ads.

Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services in its Partner Sites policy and provides controls in My Ad Center. Google also publishes its Privacy Policy. These external services have their own terms and privacy practices.

Where a consent message is required, such as for visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland, Elementle’s Google tag starts with ad and analytics storage denied until a consent management platform sends a choice. Before serving personalised ads in those regions, the site operator must enable and configure a Google-certified CMP in AdSense Privacy & messaging. Once that message is active, use the Privacy choices link in the footer to revisit the available choices. This notice does not replace the consent message supplied by that CMP.

How we use information

We use account and game information to provide the game, authenticate users, save progress, show statistics, respond to support requests, protect the service and investigate misuse. We use technical information to keep the site reliable and secure. We use analytics and advertising information as described above and only to the extent allowed by your settings and applicable law.

When information is shared

We share information only as needed to operate Elementle: with providers that host or support the game, with Google when Analytics or AdSense is used, when you ask us to do so, or when disclosure is required to comply with law or protect the site, users or others. We do not sell account information as a standalone product.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as it is reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations or maintain security. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the service. Please use a unique password for any account you create.

Your choices and rights

You can choose not to create an account, clear browser storage, adjust browser cookie controls, manage Google advertising choices through My Ad Center, and unsubscribe from marketing communications if any are sent. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to certain processing. Children

Elementle is not directed to children who are below the age at which they can provide valid consent under applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and address the request.
